Couldn’t agree more, Chris. I signed the petition, and will share it on my Facebook page.
I have to say I admire you (and all dads) for speaking up. I can’t speak for all moms but personally, there are times when I feel my husband is a better parent to our children than I am. And you know what? I think it”s wonderful he’s more nurturing and I’m the disciplinarian. We use each others strengths to offset our weaknesses.
I was a single parent prior to meeting my husband and since we got together, I’ve seen my youngest positively blossom as a result of both our love and attention. She’s a more rounded child and I have no doubt will benefit all of her life from having been parented by both of us. (His patience and better developed understanding of children will no doubt contribute). Good for you and I’m enjoying reading all about your various adventures! Found you through DaDa Rocks!
Dads are definitely not dummies!
I am SO happy there is a Dad support website out there. You don’t know how many times I’ve seen my close friends who happen to be dads get treated like they’re some dumb idiot. Who gives a crap how they load a dishwasher or change a diaper? As long as it gets done, it’s done! Dads love their children very much and actually know naturally how to be good at it without being told by a nagging girlfriend/wife/ex-wife how to do it. I can’t stand golden uterine complex moms out there who think they only know what is best for the kids – Kids need their father, no excuses! We need to change the way media portrays fathers once and for all.
P.S. I’m referencing your website for my sociology project to help promote the message!
