Crayola Create 2 Destroy Contest & Dad Bloggers Giveaway!

Crayola Create 2 Destroy Contest & Dad Bloggers Giveaway!

If your kids are like mine, they love building stuff. They’ll use blocks, boxes, buckets… heck, they even stack up chairs if I’m not watching. About the only thing they like more than building things up is knocking the whole thing down, like Godzilla on a rampage.

My friends at Crayola recently asked me if I’d like to give one of their new products a try with my kids, and then enter a fun video contest for my trouble (as well as getting to give something away to one of my readers. See below!). The product is the Create 2 Destroy Dino Destruction Metropolitan Mayhem set, one part of their new line of Create 2 Destroy products. And as two little boys who like destroying stuff AND dinosaurs, it fit right into my kids’ wheelhouse. How could I say no?

When I think Crayola I still tend to think of crayons, coloring pencils, and washable markers. But their product line extends well beyond that, and one of their newer products is a “colorful construction compound” called Morphix, which forms the basis for this set. Morphix is really interesting stuff. It feels slightly gritty, but stays quite moist and pliable, and doesn’t seem to crumble or stick to things (other than itself, that is). On closer examination it is like some sort of amazing magical modelling foam.

Along with three tubs of colorful Morphix, the set comes with a playmat, a wide variety of molds (19 in total), two volcano launchers, and two dino figures. The idea is pretty simple: you and your kids use the molds to create a city landscape — full of cars and trucks, buildings, trees, and walls — and then you use the dinosaurs to wreak havok on the whole thing. The designers were very clever in using every spare space to create extra molds, from the feet of the dinos to the lids of the Morphix tubs.

My boys had a lot of fun with this, as you can imagine. They had some difficulty with some of the molds, but that didn’t stop them from shaping and destroying and shaping and destroying. My oldest especially liked to launch boulders using the green dinosaur’s tail, which could be used like a catapult.

Crayola asked me to take a quick video of me and my kids playing with the set, and post it to Instagram. That video has been entered into a contest where I can win 10 more sets to give away to whomever I’d like.

So please, go here, and vote for my video!

(It’s the one that says “The Daddy Doctrines” under it!)
